Mia's first day of school!

Hi ya'll!

The unpacking has not ended!  Every time I unpack one box and turn around to get the next one opened it seems as if they have multiplied!

Mia started her first week of Pre-Kindergarten this past week.  She has done very well.  No tears.  All smiles.  She didn't even want to leave today!  I had to stay another 15 minutes or so that she could play in the park with her friends.

Taking a short break...

I'll be back soon.  Probably in a week or two.  Right now I need to take care of my family.

For those of you who have been following the last few weeks {months really}

we finally found a home to rent!

Next week this time I should be dealing with movers and unpacking my household goods.  We cannot be more excited and relieved!

After that's done, my parents will be bringing our little ones back.  This is the longest Locke and I have ever been away from Mia and Zoe and we HATE IT!  We know that they are in the best hands but it's still hard.  So the following week I want to devote it just to them and exploring the new town we'll be living in.

I'll still be checking up on your blogs and following up on any comments that I receive on my posts, so keep 'em coming!

Thanks for understanding and being such good "friends"!

It's always hard to say goodbye...

Today was the last day of packing. It felt so strange leaving the house. All I could think of were the memories that were created there. Though there were some sad times I'm sure, there were countless more happy moments.

Our first meal in the house, sitting on the floor. Mia was just 1 and I was a few months pregnant with Zoe.

Taking rides on the tractor, cuddling up in sweaters and blankets to see Christmas lights.

Bringing Zoe home as a newborn.

Hay rides with neighbors on Halloween.

Afternoon swims with neighbors {and friends} in their pool.

A graduation.

A retirement.

There are so many wonderful, wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.

Thank you to my loving husband for providing such a wonderful life for us!

We could not be more blessed.

Now, onto the next adventure...

Day 2 of packing...

Good morning!

Sorry that IT'S A PIECE O' CAKE LINKY PARTY is not up today. The movers are on their second day of packing our house {they will be loading the truck tomorrow} and we have already disconnected our Internet.

The worst part of moving is saying goodbye {or see you laters} to wonderful friends and family. It's different this time as well having little ones in tow. Thank God for parents who live so close and are so willing to help out!

How many of you have experienced the joys and stresses of moving?

I have to say, this is my second day of blogging using the Blogger app and it's pretty awesome! Very user friendly. I can even share pictures which I love! Have you used it?

Home Sweet Home {A PRINTABLE!}

Things are pretty crazy in this house right now.

Pretty crazy indeed.

There is so much to do in such little time and it's hard to decide where to start everyday.

The past three years in this home have been wonderful.  It's hard to imagine another family here, in the first home Locke and I ever bought together.  The only home our daughter, Zoe, has ever lived in.  The home we've celebrated birthdays, Christmases, Thanksgivings & Anniversaries.  The home in which we've shared tons of laughs and even shed a few tears in.

I only hope that the next family to move into this house makes it into their home as we have.

I'd like to leave one of these framed for them so that it's the first thing that they see when the walk into their new home.

I hope they are as blessed here as we have been.

Here is a printable for you to enjoy!

Print out, share or pin.

One of our last trips to IKEA Tampa...

Oh, IKEA...

How I will miss you only being a twenty minute drive from our home!

This past Friday, the girls and I took one of our last trips to IKEA Tampa along with my parents.  We were in search of two chairs and pillows for my parents living room and also a duvet for the duvet cover they purchased at Pottery Barn.  We found everything we wanted and more.  We always do!

I bought:

Three packs of the large Kassett boxes
Two packs of the Bumerang eight count hangers
A Tindra candle
Fantastisk napkins {I should buy stock in these!}

It's always fun, family time when we go to IKEA.  We usually make a whole morning or afternoon of it.  Usually we got so that we can all eat lunch together.  Who can resist their meatballs?  I'll miss having IKEA so close.  I have a feeling when we move to Indiana, it will be more of an event.

I think my dad may have been calculating in his head how much he was actually going to spend in that photo.  There were certain items in the store that if you purchased them you would get IKEA gift cards.    They bought two chairs and two ottomans.  With the gift cards they got back they were able to get one of the ottomans free.  That's my dad's favorite four letter "F" word!  Who's isn't?!

These are the chairs and ottomans that they ended up choosing to go along with their Pottery Barn couch.

Have you made an IKEA purchase recently?

Have you ever been?

A trip to heaven...aka Pottery Barn!

Earlier this week, my parents, the girls and I took a trip to The Shops at Wiregrass to shop at Pottery Barn!  My parents purchased some furniture from there recently and they had a store credit that was about to expire.  That would have been a disgrace!  So of course, we used that as an excuse to do some shopping.  I was there for my mom though.  My parents were the ones spending the mula that day!

From the moment I saw the store front I was giddy!  When we walked into the store, even Mia oohed and aahed.  That's my girl!

It was hard to choose, but I took little snipets with my iPhone of some of my favorite things in the store, mostly accessories.

The outdoor Ikat pillow in the back and the one in the middle were my favorites!  I love them so much, I would them inside.  Especially the blue one.

I loved the frames hung by what looked like doorknobs.  I'll have to remember that one for the new house.

This Hayden Zig Zag rug in porcelain blue is to die for!  It's obvious others like it to because it's on backorder.  I so want one.  Baby, can you buy it for me?

The Tivoli Console Table in Tuscan Chestnut Stain was beautiful.  It would look perfect behind our couch...

I loved the Holman Shelves because they are deep.  You can put so much more than just frames and that appeals to me.  Not sure if I would splurge on this one or not.  Maybe I can have my love make some for me?  Or maybe I'll just buy them...

The Caged Glass Table Lamp is something that I now have to have.  I just don't think I can fork over $169 for a lamp.  I'll finangle some kind of DIY project out of this one.  Just wait and see!

The Sunflower Embroidered Pillows were lovely. Sunflowers are my favorite flowers.  I don't know if I would ever buy these pillows for my home, but they sure are pretty to look at!

That's my dad there cheesing big time!  He's very happy because he thought he was going to leave the store spending tons of cash, but between a military discount and the store credit, he only spent $12!

This is what they actually ended up buying.  The Butterfly Duvet Cover and Shams and the Vintage Ticking Stripes Shams.  I can't wait to see them in their bedroom.  My mom is very happy as well as you can see.  My mom and I are in cahoots {ssshhhh...don't tell my dad} to paint their bedroom furniture.  What she wants to do will look beautiful along with these linens!

We couldn't leave Wiregrass without the girls going for a ride on the train!  Their Abu {Grandpa} spoiled them with a ride and they loved every moment of it.  Thank you Abu!

We all had to get a moment of relaxation in on the beautiful rockers they have there as well.  I'd love to have a few of these on a nice wrap around porch... Hey, a girl can dream!

We went to Ikea yesterday too!  It was a fun week of shopping.

What kind of shopping have you been up to?

Summer is almost here! {A FREE PRINTABLE}

Hello my friends!

Summer is only three weeks away!

How is that possible?  There is so much for me to do in this house to prepare for our upcoming move and I don't even know where to start.  Well, really, I have started.

We have seven of the eight {very large} Rubbermaid containers we've bought filled to the max with stuff.  De-cluttering makes me realize how much we have.  Once it's all out of the closets I feel refreshed and it makes me never want to have it back in there again.  All we have to do is keep what I've done neat and organized so that when it comes time to sell there is not so much to do.  That's endeavour in this house.

Now to get the house sparkling clean!  My sister-in-law, Tessa {a.ka. Kara} is coming down from New York to help me do just that.  Tess is a tough cookie and that's what I need.  Someone to give me a good kick in the butt.  I know that the time she'll be here, everything that needs to get done will probably get done.  She keeps me motivated and that's what I need.

Enough of that.

On to a little of this.

It's always hard for me to pick my favorite season.  I love Fall because of the cool breezes and beautifully colored leaves.  I love Winter because of fun in the snow and how families gather during that time of year.  I love Spring because after one too many months of Winter, I welcome the warm sun and being outside with my family in the green grass.

I love Summer because it makes me feel like home.  I love how the sun feels when it warms my skin, going to the beach or to the lake with my family and feeling that sand in between my toes.  I love camping and having barbecues and picnics.  I especially love it when no yard work has to be done and my husband can fully enjoy a day with the family.  He's a hard working man who takes such good care of his family.  I love to see him relax.  It's a rare occasion as he's one of those people that always has to be doing something.  I love you baby, and all you do for our family.

Here's a Summer printable for you to enjoy for FREE.  Please feel free to print out, but for your personal use only.  It's made to print up to 8x10.  If you share somehow or pin it to Pinterest, just make sure it's linked back to me and this specific post {not the entire blog}.
